Visit the tea plantations of central Kenya, spend the evening game viewing the rare aninals in The Samburu National Park, which are not found in other parks, like the Gerenuk, Leopard, Baisa Olyx and Somali Ostrich. Among other amazing places you will also visit the Mau Mau Caves and Mount Kenya National Park. And last, but not least the annual migration of the Zebra and the Wildebeast in Maasai Mara.

Itinerary

Day 1 – 2: Nairobi

On arrival to Nairobi you will be transfered to your hotel in the city center. During the next couple of days you will have time for the excursions tour to the Karen Blixen Museum, Giraffe Center, David Sheldrick Orphanage and a guided city tour to the important monuments. The last evening you will enjoy a barbecue dinner at Carnivore Restaurant.

Day 3: Nairobi – Samburu

Depart Nairobi and drive through the coffee and tea plantations of central Kenya crossing the equator to the north where you will arrive at Samburu National Park for lunch. Spend the evening game viewing rare animals that are not found in the other parks then return for

Dinner and overnight at Camp/Lodge.

 

Day 4: Samburu

Early morning game drive followed by breakfast. Continue with game drive and watch the rare animals of northern Kenya like Gerenuk, Leopard, Baisa Olyx and Somali Ostrich. Return for lunch before embarking on evening game.

Day 5: Samburu – Mount Kenya

Early morning game drive followed by breakfast and later drive southwards to Mount Kenya National Park. After lunch enjoy a walk and visit to the Mau Mau Caves where the kenyan freedom fighters used to hide from the colonial forces. The night is spent at a small Guesthouse or Lodge in Mount Kenya National Park including dinner.

Day 6: Mount Kenya – Lake Nakuru

After breakfast drive further south via the Thomson’s fall to Lake Nakuru National Park for lunch. Spend the rest of the day game viewing in this park with more than 400 species of birds teaming with wildlife and rare animals who find sanctuary here. The park is a home to stunning flocks of Lesser and greater Flamingos which literally turn the lakeshores in to a magnificent pink stretch. All meals and overnight at Camp/Lodge

Day 7: Lake Nakuru – Maasai Mara

Early morning game drive followed by breakfast. Then drive to the Maasai Mara arriving in time for lunch. Full afternoon game drive before dinner. All meals and overnight at Camp/Lodge.

Optional: Balloon safari and a visit to Maasai Village.

 

Day 8: Maasai Mara

Early morning and evening game drive to absorb the enormity of the Mara. In this country of breathtaking vistas, view its vast assemblages of plains game together with their associated predators. Over 450 species of animals has been recorded here and it has the most spectacular event of the natural world, when the annual migration of the Zebra and the Wildebeest take place. Here you can find Buffalo, Black Rhino, Hippopotamus, Leopard, Cheetah, Lion, common Zebra, Coke’s Hartebeest, White Bearded Gnu, Orbit, Warthog, and Thompson’s and Grant’s Gazelles. All meals and overnight at Camp/Lodge.

Day 9: Masai Mara

After breakfast depart for a full day game drive which will take you to the Mara River where migration normally take place. A lot of time will be spend to explore the park and searching for the “Big Five” (Elephant, Lion, Leopard, Buffalo and Rhino). Picnic lunch near the Mara River.

Optional: Balloon safari and a visit to Maasai Village

 

Day 10: Masai Mara – Nairobi

After breakfast or lunch depart to Nairobi for drop off at the airport for your flight either to Mombasa or back home.
